There are plenty of easy ways to take a screenshot on Samsung phones, and there are many situations where a screenshot can be useful – whether you want to share something you came across online with friends or obtain image proof of your latest findings with colleagues.

We will be using the Galaxy Note 10 as our guide, but these screenshot methods covers most Samsung Galaxy smartphones, including Galaxy S20 and Note 10 Plus.

There are four ways to take a screenshot on a Samsung Galaxy Note 10. It’s up to you to either use them interchangeably or choose the method that best works for you.

How to take a screenshot on a Samsung Note 10 using the power and volume buttons

Like most Android smartphones, the easiest method to take a screenshot on a Samsung phone is by using the power and volume buttons. Here’s how to do it:

1. Go to the screen page you want to screenshot.

2. Press the Power and Volume Down buttons simultaneously for one second, and release them quickly – holding the buttons too long will display options to shut down.

3. You’ll see the screen flash, and the screenshot toolstrip will show up at the bottom bar that pops on the screen. You can use the tools to edit (crop and draw) the screenshot or leave it the way it is, and the screenshot will be saved automatically to the Gallery app.

How to take a screenshot on a Samsung Note 10 using a palm swipe hand gesture

Another easy way to take a screenshot on the Note 10 is swiping your palm across the phone screen. The palm swipe settings should be on by default, but you can check by going to the settings app > Advanced features > Motions and gestures > Palm swipe to capture. Make sure it’s on by toggling the switch to the right. Once it’s enabled, here’s how to screenshot:

1. Go to the screen page you want to screenshot.

2. Place your hand vertically on either the left or right edge of the phone screen.

3. In one sleek motion, slide your palm across the phone screen. You can do this either from left-to-right or right-to-left.

The screenshot is done and will be saved automatically to the Gallery app. This is one method that’s quite tricky to do and may take some practice getting used to.

How to take a screenshot on a Samsung Note 10 using Bixby voice

You can also use Bixby (which is Samsung’s version of Apple’s Siri) to take a screenshot. Bixby is automatically set up and ready to take your commands, to do this:

1. Go to the screen page you want to screenshot.

2. Press and hold the power button to launch Bixby.

3. Once Bixby is activated, continue to hold the power button and say, “Take a screenshot.”

4. Bixby will take the screenshot and automatically save it in your Gallery.

How to take a screenshot on a Samsung Note 10 using the S Pen

Lastly, you can use the S pen (with annotations) to take a screenshot.

1. Pull out the S Pen from its slot at the bottom of your Note 10.

2. Launch Air Command by using the S Pen to tap the Air Command button located on the right side of the screen.

3. Tap Screen write in the menu that pops-up.

4. Bixby will capture the screenshot, which you can edit with the stylus.

5. To save the edited screenshot, tap Save at the top-right of the screen.
