It’s easy to take screenshots on an iPad. You’ll need to use the power button and Home button on an older iPad model, while on a recent iPad model with no home button, you’ll have to use the power button and volume up button. Your screenshots are automatically saved to your iPad’s Photos app.
iPad screenshots are handy for capturing important information you feel is worth sharing with friends, families, or coworkers.
Say you came across a perfect image online you feel is worth capturing, or you want to show off a brilliant drawing you made in a drawing app to your friends, or a hilarious conversation you stumbled across on social media, or maybe you need feedback support on a project from a coworker in another location. These are all tasks that are extremely easy to do with a simple screenshot.
However, unlike regular computers, the iPad doesn’t have a Print Screen button, but taking a screenshot on your iPad is incredibly easy because it has a great built-in feature that effectively functions like the Print Screen key on a computer. The feature allows you to take screenshots of anything displayed on your iPad’s screen as an image file, which you can then share.
In this iPad screenshot article, we’ll show you the easy process to effectively take a screenshot. Here’s how:
How to screenshot on an iPad with a Home button
1. Go to the screen page you want to screenshot.
2. Press and hold the iPad Home button and the Top button at the same time. The Home button is the round button below the screen, and the Top button is the oval-shaped button located atop to the right of the iPad.
3. Quickly release both button once you hear the click of a camera shutter.
4. The screenshot will appear as a thumbnail image in the bottom-left of your screen. Tap on the thumbnail to open it or swipe left to delete it.
You can find all your iPad screenshots at Photos > Albums > Screenshots.

How to share screenshots on an iPad
There are many reasons you may want to share your screenshots either with a co-worker, friend, or family member. It’s easy to do with plenty of options. Here’s how:
1. Go to Photos app > Albums > Screenshots, and tap the screenshot image to enlarge it.
2. Tap the Share icon (it’s the square with a top arrow) located at the bottom-left corner top of the screen (In iPadOS 14, the Share button is located at the top-right of the screen).
3. Choose how you’d like to share the screenshot. You can send the screenshot in an email, as a text message, or to a shared album. You can also choose to post on social media such as Facebook, Flikr, Twitter, or AirDrop it to any devices nearby, or add it to your iPad Note. For further sharing options, tap More.
