There are different ways to take screenshots on a Dell laptop, PC, or even tablet, but the easiest is using the Print Screen button (labeled as “PrtSc” or “PrtScn” or “PrtScr”), which is located at the top row of your keyboard near the function keys.
Most Dell laptops or desktop computers have a print screen key that makes it easy to take and save screenshots. The process is the same regardless of which desktop computer you have. Pressing the print screen key will capture your entire window screen and copy the image to your computer clipboard. You can then save it as an image file or paste it into another program like paint.
How to take a screenshot on any Dell laptop or desktop
The quickest way to take a screenshot on any Dell computer is to use the “Print Screen” key, which may be labeled differently depending on the Dell model you own, but is usually abbreviated as PrtScn, PrtSc, or PrtScr. You’ll find the Print Screen key next to the Delete key on most Dell computers and laptops. Here’s how to do it:
1. Navigate to the screen page you want to screenshot.
2. Press the PrtSc key. Your entire screen will be captured and copied to your clipboard. From there, you can save it or paste it into another application such as Microsoft Paint.
You can also screenshot just a portion of your screen using other easy keyboard shortcuts or methods such as the Snipping tool.
