Forgotten or lost your Spotify password? Or you just want to change your Spotify account to keep it secure? Whatever the reason may be, it only takes a few clicks to change your Spotify password.

As a Spotify user, you can’t directly change your username (you can change your username if you connect it to Facebook) — but you can change your password whenever you want. Unfortunately, you can’t change it on the mobile and desktop app. You can only change your Spotify password using an internet browser.

How to change Spotify password

To change your Spotify password, you need to log into your account via a web browser on either Mac, Windows computers, iOS, or Android devices.

Also, to change your Spotify password, you have to remember your current password. If you’ve forgotten your password, you can easily reset it by following the instructions on how to reset your Spotify password in the next section of this article. Here’s how to change your Spotify password:

1. Open the Spotify website in your browser.

2. Click Log In in the upper-right corner of your screen.

3. Enter your email address or username and current password. If you usually use Facebook to access your account, you won’t have a Spotify password to change.

4. Click LOG IN.

5. Click on your Profile in the upper-right corner of your screen.

6. Select Account from the drop-down menu.

7. On your account overview, scroll down to the left-hand menu and click Change password.

8. Enter your Current password and your New password into their fields, then once more, enter your new password into the Repeat new password field.

9. Click the SET NEW PASSWORD button.

Once you finish the process, you should see a Password updated confirmation message.

How to reset Spotify password

2. Click Log In in the upper-right corner of your screen.

4. Enter the email address or username of your Spotify account.

5. Click SEND.

6. Enter the email address associated with your Spotify account. A reset password email will be sent to the email you provided. If you don’t see the email in your primary inbox, check your spam or junk folders or any other subfolders (e.g., If you use Gmail, check the Social or Promotions tabs).

7. Open the reset password email and click the Reset Password link, a new web page will open up for you to reset your password.

8. Enter a new password into the New password field, then once more, enter your new password into the Repeat new password field.

9. Tick the I’m not a robot Captcha box.

10. Click SEND.

That’s it! You’ve successfully reset your Spotify password. Now you can go back to Spotify and log in with the email address you used to reset your password and enter your new password.
