Searching for the phone number of your Android phone? This article will show you the many ways to find it.

There’s a possibility you may not know your phone number. Like many people, you never had any reason to memorize or know your number — like calling your own phone number so you can see what shows up, who does that?

Not many of us can remember our phone number or bothers to know what our mobile number is until there’s a need for it, like when a friend asks for your number, and then you realize you never knew your phone number all this while. But, no worries — you are not alone.

Fortunately, there are simple ways to find the phone number on your Android phone. We’ll look at eight simple options.

The location to find your phone number may vary depending on which version of Android phone you are using, but the process remains the same for most versions.

Contents

  • Android settings
  • Search bar
  • USSD Code
  • Contact app
  • Call or text a friend
  • Call customer service
  • SIM card
  • Automated phone line
  • Phone number showing “Empty” or “Unknown”

Android settings

1. Open “Settings” on your Home screen.

2. Scroll down and tap “About device” or “About phone.” On some Android phones, the phone number will display on the screen — if not showing on your screen, move on to step 3.

3. Tap “Phone identity” or “Status.”

4. Tap “Sim Status.”

5. You should see your Phone number displayed in the “My Phone Number” section.

Search bar

This method is straightforward. Simply go to “Settings” and type “My phone number” into the search bar. The result will auto path you through “System” > “About phone” > “Status,” with your phone number displayed on the screen.

USSD Code

Open your Phone app and “99” or “*#99#”

You will see your mobile phone number displayed on your screen.

Contact app

This method is also a very simple one. Open your “Contact” app, and you’ll see your phone number displayed right at the top. Some Android phone versions will display “My Info” or “Me.” Tap on it to see your Phone number.

Call or text a friend

This is one option that’s commonly being used. All you need do is call or text a friend or relation, and your Phone number will show up on their screen — they could be close by or far away, it doesn’t matter. Tell them to call you back and tell you your number or text back your number.

Call customer service

Another simple technique to find your smartphone number is to call your service provider and ask them to tell you your number. Usually, when you call customer service using your phone, your phone number will appear on their screen — that makes it easy for them to tell you what your mobile number is straightaway.

SIM card

Your mobile phone number will usually be on your SIM card pack, the packaging that your SIM card was wrapped in. If you can’t find the original packing, you may need to check the SIM card inside your mobile phone.

Automated phone line

Launch your Phone app and dial 1-800-444-4444. Listen to hear the number you are dialing from, which is your Phone number.

Phone number showing “Empty” or “Unknown”

If your mobile phone number shows up as “Unknown” or “Empty,” the problem may be with your account or possibly your SIM card was not inserted correctly. Try to remove the SIM card and insert it again. Otherwise, contact your network provider.
